Nah    I don't believe in gasoline fuel  additives.   Usually, even if your mpg goes up,  the cost benefitt is nil.  I have run high performance sedans in my day, and  running premium gas would get me 3 to 4 more mpg.  I do not trust additives for gas.    Diesel additives are another story.   lateeron  

My 04 Wrangler is also MPG variable.  Even when I make an effort to drive the same it gets different MPG.  I'm not talking about 2-3 mpg but up to 10 miles per 1st quarter tank (approx 5 gals).

I did notice that turning OFF my overdrive gave me a consistant (every trip) 10 more miles per quarter tank.  Who'd a thunk turning it OFF gave better mpg!?

I normally get 10-12 mpg.  On trips to Lake Arrowhead I can get up to 15 (maybe a 16)at 5 gals per 1st quarter tank.  

When I installed 4:10's and with overdrive ON I get 10 more miles per quarter. about 60 miles instead of 50 for 1st quarter.

On very rare occasions I'll get 65 to 70 miles per first quarter (that means more then 4 times). (Once and only once, I got 80 per 1st quarter - I was ecstatic - but don't know why and was never duplicated.)  But a consistant 60 is really something to talk about.

Reseting the computer doesn't seem to help.  It either learns too quick or picks up old info - so nothing seems to change.  

My 95 Wrangler averages a little over 17 mpg.....seriously. Sometimes I get 20 mpg (if the wife doesn't drive it ). I use the mid grade stuff.  

everybodies talking about what they get per gallon. my gasoholic 350 swallows a gallon about every 9 miles. you're all making me jealous.lol  

you're not alone salsa, my 4.0 doesn't get much better, I rather have the power if I have to feed it that much.  

I forgot to tell you that my 95 Wrangler also has a 4.0. Just filled it last night at work. My wife has it today, probably have to fill it again tonight...LOL, she likes to take each gear as far as it will go.

you're right at least i got the power and my wife wont drive it since i took the top off. might screw up her hair. note to every one. take the top off, keep the wife out the jeep! lol.  

LOL....No she's a brunette, and she can never wait for the top to come off in the summer.....too cold and rainey to do it now tho.
