Ok, I have an 03 wrangler, 3inch bds lift, & 33's, and only 33k miles. I recently got a death wobble at 35-45 mph after hitting a bump in the road, I slowed down and it went away. I went home and checked balljoints, tie rods, ect. ect and everything seems fine.
I came here to find some answers and i have gotten some but i have a few questions of my own now, Im under the influence that I at the very least need to balance and rotate tires, and get a new steering stabilizer. One of my questions is wether I should just get a new shock for the stock stablizer or should i buy whole new kit with new mounting hardware? Also what is a good brand for the stablizers?
I also wanted to know how to tell if my trac bar is worn or not. I also went to the local jeep dealership to get pointed in the right direction before i got on here and they said that I may have to buy new control arms for the 4 link along with the new stabilizer, are they just trying to make more money off me (funny enough I was planning on doin all my own work) or were they telling me the truth? Thanks for your guy's help, I hope I was clear and consise enough.

The parts changers at the dealer were trying to get themselves something to do that don't need to be messed with, Just get a replacement (not OEM) stabilizer from rubicon ex, skyjacker, superlift, rancho, old man emu, (all basicly the same except the color and sticker) they come with the tapered bolt and will bolt right on in the stock location, the stock stabilizers are barely useful for a screen door replacement shock, uneven and low tire presure can contribute to a wobble also.
The stock track bar has a tie-rod type end on the drivers side, they do wear out and get sloppy, the other end is rubber with a steel sleave. check it just like a tie rod, turn the steering side to side and watch for excessive movementn (if you park the tire against a curb, it will force the axle to move if it can) with a 3" lift an adjustable track bar would be advised or a rebent one to accomodate the lift, which pulls the axle off center towards the left. same with the rear except it pull the axle to the right. check out www.nthdegreemobility.com read the FAQs on the Death wobble. death wobble- http://nthdegreemobility.com/catalog/faq.phpdo=show&faq_id=16 death wobble- http://nthdegreemobility.com/catalog/faq.php?do=show&faq_id=36 track bar- http://nthdegreemobility.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=250 adj t-bar- http://nthdegreemobility.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=189 the adjustable won't work with a 3" without modification, this is the one that have on my 03 rubicon, the frame bracket will hit the differential and bend up the brace and make a mess of the cover bolt heads on the top, unless you have a 4.5" lift with the proper bump stops. most of the cheap adjustable track bars will bend the tie rod end out of shape if you do any medium wheeling rancho, rough country, just make sure it has a high grade end, The Nth Degree solid adjustable is the only track bar that i haven't bent YET...
Your 4 link arms have replaceable, rubber bushings, (assuming you have the bds lower arms)look for cracks and slopp, chances are there is nothing wrong with them. they are supposed to flex and twist with some resistance. I haven't seen a wore out stock control arm bushing, just bent, broke, rotten, and twisted ones.
These tires were made for muddin and they're gonna throw mud all over you.
