Actually, Like one of the previous responders posted in a slightly different way- Land Rover-like- Jeeps. Land Rovers have the rep for being ready for almost any real world 4X ing. And rightfully so with their price tags! I think we need to see some "You-guys-built " Do-it-all J-trucks with camping/ hunting gear and maybe even a Bike or 2 in the bed. The truck should be built so its ready to take on muddy trails, water crossing and moderate rocks, but no fender bashing. and serve as a desert racer servic truck..or sweeps truck? I don't know what you call 'em, but like a desert race bike ambluance/tow truck. Same thing for A Cherokee WT -Safari-ize it! Paris-Dakar Ralley-ize it. I'm tired of seeing these weenie Jeeps in desert races and Ralleys, Lets get some old iron out there with new parts! Slightly built '79 j20, '81 Cherokee Laredo. 767 cubic inches between 'em.

I think one thing that would be nice is periodic regional coverages on trails. I think it would be cool for a monthly section that rotated around the country with local clubs to show the 1. "best" and 2. Scenic trails of the areas.
Also the online setup is kind of weird, I clicked on performance directory and get a general index on cars and what not, and the shop for parts I get hoods for chevy's...don't have a clue what you guys are going here.
And the Tech Tips would be cool if it was organzied by are of interest, articles on Jeep overhauls/ suspension/ engine/ ....

More "grage built" rigs and less of the $50,000 full competion rigs. Build a Jeep from the ground up (not a buy and drive home, more of a buy parts and trailer them home) kind of project using parts from junk yards. You don't have to stick in $3000 Dynatrac 60's instead use the 'ol corp.14bolt or a cheap stock dana 60. You could even do a build up of something other than a dana60 for the front, cause around here a bone stock front dana 60 will run $1000. It seems to me you could build a pretty stout dana 44 for under a grand. Besides most of the wheelers out there can do without 35 spline Prorock60's I my self have an Isuzu corporate 12 bolt under my rig and have yet to break anything more than leaky axle seal. Before you laugh this axle is stronger than a Dana 44 and has factory disk brakes and factory 4.56 gears and with little modifcations will bolt right into a CJ or a wrangler. (the only draw back, ARB and a limited slip are all thats avalible for traction) Also do more on custom suspensions not just the bolt on stuff. lastley build this ground up project with a poor mans budget somewhere in the $10,000 range.

I am currently looking to add some serious oomph to my 2001 TJ. I have a 3" teraflex lift, 33" trxus mts, AEM intake, B&M short throw shifter, and various bolt ons. I have the stock 3.73s and open diffs. I looking to put a slip yoke eliminator, cv driveshaft, and 4.56s. I haven't decided what to put in the difs yet, I am leaning towards Truetach limited slips because its a daily driver and I stick to mud and snow usually. Anyways I would really like to see a comparison of the available superchargers for the 4.0 wranglers, such as the Kenne Bell, Avenger, and FactorX. Which has the best performance, easiest install, etc. Thanks.

A couple ideas..
Hazel once asked if anyone did a swap yet of one of those SRT 2.4L turbo four cylinders into a Jeep.. I'd love to see a tech series on that engine being swapped into an older Wrangler, Cherokee, or Comanche.. showing all the tips and tricks to the swap. .. or even one of those Liberty diesels.
Or a comparison of coil spring conversion kits... I saw one a long time ago somehwere, but I imagine there have been advances. I aint talking wild coil over "rock crawling buggy" (has that fad ended YET?) suspensions, but a conservative out of the box coil conversion kit to give a CJ the ride of a TJ without the $$ of a frame swap.
keep up the good work, ladies

I know there are a butt-load of other comments, so I was too lazy to read through all 60 something pages.
I think that it would be great to see an issue dedicated to readers rigs (Jeep shots), with tons of photos. Maybe have them separated in sections for moded Jeeps, stock Jeeps, and those restored to stock, etc.
A couple of stories focusing on the reader rigs would be cool to.
Just a few thoughts! "Real Jeeps are built, not bought!"

It would be helpful to see a comparative study on winches, installation tips, mounting plates, etc. I am talking about the leading winch groups compared to some of the cheaper ones. Are Warn and Ramsey really worth the extra bucks?
