dont get me wrong I love chevy power but everybody swaps a chevy 350 into there jeep. chevy's not the only reliable engine out there, try out the old mercaides diesel engines or even some of the newer ones they came out with for dodge. how about a ford swap. may be something like a 351 windsor, that would help me out tons or even some ford diesel engines aswell if you can fit them. well just an Idea.

How about a Big Block Oldmobile Engine?

Or an AMC V-8 into a Kaiser-era Jeep?

The thing of it is, as I'm sure you are aware, the Chevys are just affordable.  And an LT-1 into a Jeep?  Smog legal?  Yep, working on that one too.  Really, if we wanted reliable, every Jeep we built would get a 4.0 and regular oil changes.  We aim for swaps that won't break the bank in hopes of reaching a wider audience.  Ask Hazel why the Hemi is still in the corner of the garage.  Sure, a Ford or Dodge swap could be had on the cheap... but not always for everyone.  You've almost gotta "know someone" to make it work.

I keep looking for a 12-valve Cummins to put in an M-715... but have found nothing on my Mac and Cheese budget.  If/when I do, rest assured, you will read about it.

I say put what ever you want in it. Just because its a Jeep doesn't mean it needs to be MOPAR. Jeep has had a little bit of everything during its history....FORD (when FORD helped WILLYS in WW1 in JEEP production GMC, AMC, now Chrysler.
