I just got a 2004 rubicon, and I cant just leave it like this (stock). Im not rock crawling or anything. Mostly just driving on fire roads, and in the mud and daily driving. Anyways, I dont need a lift or bigger tires for practical reasons, but I didnt buy this to be practical. I just want it to look a little better, and still be really capable, any affordable suggestions? Just looking for a few extra inches ahahaha. Nothing extreme.

Go with a 2'' spacer lift and 32x10.5'' tires. You should be able to keep the same wheels. And for a little extra dough, Old MAn Emu (OME) makes a 2'' suspension lift. They are supposed to be the best riding lift on the market. Check it out at quadratec.com

Actually you can get the same tires that are on the rubicon (goodyear wrangler MT/R) that are 265/75R16. That would be a 31.8X10.5'' tire. They should be able to fit on you rims. Just be sure to get a little lift first though.

Doesn't the Rubicon come with taller springs? My '05x came with a 2" teraflex bb to fit moabs and mtr package. 32's fit fine with no more lift. Granted this was tempo til I got the 33's and 4", but still worked.

I also have an 04 rubicon, I also work for a tire company and you can go with 265/75r16 tires if your more on road but still want good traction and reliablity when some muddy situations pop up go with toyo open country a/t's a great tire on the road for everyday driving and it cleans mud and snow incredible. the construction for this tire is second to none and the tread design is super smooth on the road and grippy in the mud. Hope this helped you.

This is an old topic, but I know there are probably more people like me out there wondering the same question. Tire brand makes a huge difference. Not all brand of tires will be the same height, for a given size. I have an '05 and I just put LT265/75-16 Maxxis Bighorns on mine. These fit perfectly fine, and my Rubicon is stock. I also used the factory rims.
'05 Rubicon-Stock, except for 265/75/16 Maxxis Bighorns.

I wanted "a little" more height on my Rubi when I bought it last year. After I lifted it "a little" I wanted "a little" more! It goes on-and-on forever. Now I have about 4.5" of lift!
