I want to put a Chevy 350 in my TJ. I was just wondering how difficult of a propostion that is. Other than the mating in to the tranny, headers, radiator, motor mounts and figuring out the wiring is ther much more that has to be bought? Thanks in advance for any help.

I JUST PUT A 4.3 LITRE CHEVY IN MY 98 WRANGLER WITH THE HELP OF THE GUYS @ ADVANCE
ADAPTER..THEY PRETTY MUCH SELL EVERY THING YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE ENGINE AND ADAPT IT TO YOUR TRANS...THATS THE EZ PART. MAKING IT EMISSIONS LEGAL IS THE HARD PART. I USED A PAINLESS ENGINE HARNESS TO WORK WITH THE 2000 CHEVY 4.3 LITRE VORTECH ENGINE AND A PCM FOR A 97 CHEVY CK TRUCK. I PROGRAMMED THE PCM TO A 97 CK TRUCK VIN # (MY DADS TRUCK). I USED THAT VIN BECAUSE THE PCM DOESNT LOOK FOR A THEFT DETERENT SIGNAL FROM THE BCM TO PCM IN THAT YEAR . YOU CAN ALSO USE A LATER MODEL PCM AND JUST HAVE IT PROGRAMMED TO NOT LOOK FOR THIS SIGNAL AS WELL AS NOT MONITOR O2 SENSORS BEHIND THE CAT AS THE PAINLESS HARNESS ONLY USES TO O2 SENSORS IN FRONT OF THE CAT. I MADE MINE LEGAL BY ADDING THE WIRING TO THE PCM CONNECTOR AND INSTALLING ALL 4 O2S AS THE CHEVY WAS DESIGNED. I AM STILL WORKING OUT A FEW BUGS BUT IT REALLY RUNS GREAT...IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD GO WITH A 350 VORTECH WITH AN AUTOMATIC 4L60E TRANS. I AM RUNNING A 4.3 LITRE WITH AN NV 3550 TRANS AND RUBICON DANA 44 S FROM A 2003 RUBICON.
LONG WINDED ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION. THE SHORT ANSWER IS ...ITS A LOT OF WORK,BUT IT IS WORTH IT IN THE END. I HOPE!

I agree, I also just finished a 350 swap into my 94YJ. ther are so many options out there now for this swap you can buy just about everything bolt on. The only difference with mine is I went the older route and used an old 77 and had it rebuilt. stuck with a muncie 465 tranny and the 205 trans case to keep the linkage simple. If you go that route you will also need a passenger drop front end because you cant spin the 205. like I said there is so much out there for 350 swap you can waist a lifetime looking so the best advice I can give is pick what you like and stick with it or you will go back and forth for ever   trust me.
