I currently have an 04 TJ with 31 bjg a/t and they have done well. I currently have @ 30k miles on them with plenty to go.I put on @ 55 miles a day during my work week and then play and go to a couple of fishing spots on the weekend. My question is I would like a more aggresive tire that I can also use since it is my DD, what would be the best bet? I do deal with the occasional ice here just north of Dallas area.

BFG MT's are nice.
Since you commute so much with it, I would personaly stick with the BFG AT you have now. They are great for that. But if you do want more agressive, be sure to not go cheap as some of the lesser brands only last 10-15,000 miles.
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!

I used to drive a 69Land Rover and a 1984 FJ wagon on BFG MTs 31X10.5 R/15 or 245/65 R16 These tires lasted me about 30k miles, if you rotate them and keep them at the correct air pressure for your vehicle. I like them because they are a great tire for mild off-road use. They are also fairly quiet. I would stay away from the GoodYear Mts like the ones on the rubicons. I hate mine. They are so loud that listening to the radio after 40mph is a joke. Also keep in mind the width of your rim's. If you go to wide on the tire it will produce more noise and wear quickly. If you have an 8" wide rim I would suggest a 10.5 inch wide tire. I lived in Alaska for several years and found that having your tires siped gives them many more edges that hold traction beter.

I love the Rubi MTRs they are loud but they dig great and handle decent on the road. I personally would run street tires for work and have a set of diggers for play. As far as im concerned there is nothing worse than trying to have some fun offroad with junk tires. I run TSL radials on the street and boggers in the mud on my YJ and Love the MTRs so far on the rubi
