Best thing to do is just call the manufacturers and ask how thick their glass is, if it is hand laid or machine, gel coated, things like that.

I personaly don't have experiance with jeep bodies, but I know fiberglass and cheap is not the way to go!

So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!

I've been toying with the idea of getting the bodies and doing a shootout... I'm just finishing up a one-year rear bumper/tire carrier shootout (it'll be in August).

I can't even begin to think of the logistics of this.  My knee jerk is to get all the bodies shipped here, so I can put them on the same jeep.  That way, I'd get fit and finish, materials and so on... but really, how would the bodies be stored?  How long would it really take to do something like that?  Would the aluminum bodies be included too?  What model Jeep would be used for this?  And so on and so forth...

As much as I'd like to do a hands-on, I think a buyer's guide would end up making more sense.  The time and money that would be required of the companies involved as well as mounting and dismounting, not to mention storage of, a myriad of bodies just makes it a monumental undertaking.

I've got a couple other shootouts in the works first, so this is kind of a back burner thing (if the companies would even play ball)... but rest assured it is something I've been kicking around (trust me, I know all about rusty Jeep bodies... and it is a big financial outlay... an unbiased look at the various products would be killer)

not to mention storage

Just store them in Cappa's office. It's so huge he will never know!
