I installed a lock right into my 80 cj front axle. Dana 30. When it should be locked up under load there is a loud clunking. It is as if it keeps disengaging. I thought it was the new hubs not working correctly, but I swapped the hubs around and the problem remained. The noise is only coming from the drivers side. Also when I drive down the road It pulls to the left as if the passenger wheel is the only one with power. As soon as I push in the clutch it goes back to straight. Any thoughts??

Check the U-Joint. Then open up the axle and double check that the installation of the locker is correct.
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!
