I have a 79 CJ7 that I wish to fit with front and rear axles from a
79 cherokee, Has anyone done this without narrowing the axles
I had heard that a kit was available to fit the springs outboard, if
not anyone got any ideas?

Blue torch fab, Poison spyder customs, avalanche engineering, (all the previously mentioned ones will outboard springs AND move teh axle AND do a shackle reversal) and tons of do-it-yourself sites are out there for outboarding your springs.  I have done it myself and my work looks great and rides awsome.  It's really not that hard, but more time-consuming and tedious.  Measure a billion times cut once type of thing.  I don't know anything about the Cherokees but make sure teh D44 rear is centered (If you have a D300) and that the D44 front is a passenger side drop.  Check out www.cjoffroad.com and search under "full width"   you will find tons of useful write ups.
